I can't believe how quickly this year has gone! Sam turned 11 months yesterday which means that he is so very almost one year old!! That really freaks me out as, in some ways, it feels like only yesterday that he was born! He is doing really well, though. He is behind some of his 'friends' in terms of development but I am not too worried - am sure he'll do things when he's good and ready!
Being back at work is weird but I do like the way my week is set up. I work Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays which I think is a nice split. Makes the weeks go insanely fast though. This is my 4th week back but feels like I've only been back a few days!
Bought a new Christmas tree today. Decided to go for fibre optic as I felt that it would be safer for teeny little grabbing baby hands! I had visions of Sam pulling on strands of fairy lights and the whole tree coming down! Am excited that he'll be more involved in Christmas this year. I mean, he was around last year but he was only 3 days old. Mark and I were trying to decide what was best to do in terms of presents as it is his birthday 3 days before Christmas too. We came to the conclusion that while he is this age, and probably doesn't really understand what is going on that much, he will just have one decent sized present for each occasion.
In more exciting news, well for me anyway, only 16 days until P!nk :)

I can't actually believe it but I am feeling broody!
How is that possible with a not even 4 month old gorgeous baby?!?!!
Very odd LOL
Sam's doing so well. He was weighed on Friday and is 16lbs 3oz and his weight gain has slowed down a lot. I think it must have something to do with the fact he's now sleeping through so he's missing one or two feeds per day that he was having before.
He is seeing a cranio sacral osteopath at the moment for his head/neck. Really hoping it's going to do some good as I took some photos of him the other day and his misshapen head is much more obvious than I originally thought. Keeping fingers crossed.
Booked our flights to Vancouver/Portland today .. So excited for holiday although I am pretty nervous about how Sam'll cope on the flight and also how he'll be given the time difference! Oh well, guess we'll find out in 5 weeks time!

I can't believe how much my little man is growing up! He is going to be 11 weeks on Monday which is just insane to me. So much has changed, too. He is now smiling ALL the time and he has possibly the most adorable smile I've ever seen. It's so rewarding to look into his Moses basket first thing in the morning, say 'Good Morning' to him and to see a massive grin appear on his face. I definitely think he recognises me and Mark now .. and possibly even my mum!

Well, I officially still have a big, bouncing baby boy!
Sam went for his 9½ week weigh-in today.
He is now 13lbs 15oz and 60.5cm long!

9:59 pm - Sam Update

Took Sam to the clinic to be weighed today - 13lbs 5oz and he's not even 8 weeks yet!
People are still telling me he looks as though he's 3/4 months old already, particularly because of how well he holds his head up and because he is so alert. I can't believe he'll be 2 months old on Monday. Time is flying by and my little man is growing up.
This week we started 'putting him to bed' upstairs in his Moses basket rather than keeping it downstairs with us. I am impressed that I've not been glued to the baby monitor or running up every five minutes to check on him. He's been going up around 8/8.30pm and sleeping until 2am-ish when he wakes for a feed. He then normally wakes about 5.30am for another feed and then at 8.30am for the day. Am hoping to drop the 2am feed soon but not sure how to go about that really. I guess when he's ready to sleep longer he just won't wake for it *shrugs*

Sam had his 6 week check up today and the nurse and doctor both said he was "perfect" :)
Not that I needed them to tell me that! They said he was very big, though .. Didn't need them to tell me that either ;)
Weight - 12lbs 7oz
Head Circumference - 42cm
Length - 58.5cm

So yesterday I took Sam out to the countryside to visit a friend who had her baby in October. She took me to meet another one of her friends who is an amateur photographer (and also a mummy). She took a LOAD of photos of Sam which she is going to be putting on a disk for me but she sent me some teasers which are so adorable so I had to share :) Some are the same but just colour/black & white.

1:09 am - Mass renaming in Vista
|
Does anyone know if it's possible to rename all photos within one folder in Vista in one go? Or can it only be done individually? Ideally, I would like all my photos of Sam to be called Sam 1, Sam 2 etc etc .. any ideas?

3:12 pm - to swing or to bounce - that is the question
|
OK, so I can't decide between getting Sam a new bouncy chair or to go for a swing. The bouncy chair he has at the moment was cheap as chips and not stimulating in any way (just plain cream with a couple of dangling teddies)
There is too much choice, though, and I don't know the pro's and con's between a bouncer and a swing. I've narrowed it down to a few different ones but am totally stuck. Grrr
